Britt Mathys’s contribution, a former Director of the CSDS and now a teacher at the Intelligence and Security Academy, addresses a very particular form of “female fighting”, namely suicide attacks committed by women. This study deals with various aspects of this phenomenon, going from the motivations to the tactical advantages. It also examines the analyses from external commentators, which are often imbued with prejudices around this theme of women as violence actors. In “Don't Miss. Zelfmoordaanslagen door vrouwen”, she sheds light on a grey area in our knowledge of security.
